Question: How many of you agree with me that today’s reality sucks?
I hate the concept of having to work hard, multitasking? Whoever came up with that one
outta be banished from existence. This country has decayed socially, morally, ethically. Can’t enjoy the movies anymore, texting in the dark, so your lighted screen can irritate the heck out
of me. It used to be just people talking, now you pay $ 14.00 to be totally miserable. Nobody is anybody unless you’re a reality show star, or your face is on youtube, it used to be whether or not you had an education, skill or talent, but today, a faux persona is all you need to make the big bucks. Even food needs a “top chef” to make you cringe at the thought of franks and beans. Am I
that far off from the actual truth? Sometimes, I go to sleep at night and wish that my dream would
take over completely.
Oh, going to dinner is just incredible, two people
on their cell phones with other people, sitting across from each other, staring into their laptop.

i agree with you but i try to forget about the little things that make my life sometimes suck. i move on.
Beyond Reality – Top Chef NYC Recap – 2/04/09 Last week Jeff was sent home – Top 6 Quickfire challenge with guest judge Eric Ripert. 3 round fish fileting tournament. 1st round – Clean & butterfly 2 sardines. Jamie & Carla were eliminated. 2nd round – clean an Artic Char. Leah & Fabio were eliminated. 3rd round – Hosea vs Stefan – clean a freshly killed eel. Stefan wins an advantage (no immunity) Lunch at Le Bernardin for the chefs in the private dining room. Elimination challenge – they each must recreate one of the dishes at the luncheon. Stefan chose the lobster dish because he had the advantage from the quickfire. They drew knives for the remaining dishes. Carla – escolar, Hosea – monkfish, Leah – mahi mahi, Fabio – red snapper, Jamie – black bass. Eric came & critiqued the dishes before they actually had to serve them. Top – Stefan, Fabio & Carla. Stefan won & got Eric’s new cookbook “On the Line” & an invitation to be his guest for a week then fly to the food & wine festival with him. Bottom – Hosea, Leah & Jamie. Jamie was eliminated. Next week – Fabio cuts himself.
Beyond Reality – Hell’s Kitchen Recap 6/15/10 Last week Mikey went home. This week Jason is angry he was nominated last time. Ramsey says there’ll be lunch service for the USC Trojans so the chefs can learn teamwork. Whoever finishes 1st wins. The ladies won a day at the Malibu beach Inn & the men had to clean up the LA river. Fran burns herself before dinner service starts. Holly & Salvatore will be Jean Philippe’s assistants for the service. Salvatore screws up & almost walks out. Jean Phiippe convinces him to stay. Fran’s hand is so painful she has to see the medic. Both teams complete service but the men’s team wins because Benjamin was awesome on the meat station. The ladies nominate Fran & Jamie. Jamie is asked to leave Hell’s Kitchen. 2nd episode – Scott & Salvatore wake up early to study. In this weeks challenge the chefs must roll the die for ingredients. The men get – halibut, endive, Salsify, Crab, Peas, Bacon. The ladies get – beets, shallots, mango, turnips, duck, ham. Both teams do well but the men win a trip to the skydiving simulator. The ladies have to clean Hell’s Kitchen & prep doth kitchens. This dinner service will include tables for – Ladies – Kevin Frazier & Men – Debbie Mazar & their spouses. Scott is up in everyone’s business, Siobhan puts lobster in the crab capellini, Ed has trouble on garnish, Autumn isn’t respecting the ingredients, Scott effed up the meat station. They finish service and Ramsey actually had compliments for them – especially …

I am not crazy about Bergeron; he certainly ain’t a better host on “America’s Funniest Home Videos” as predecessor Bob Saget. Yet even when I can watch “hit in groin” videos on YouTube, that show is still on. & I don’t watch the other show he does, even if Samantha Harris is 7x hotter & looks like Bonnie Bernstein. Actually if Harris was nomin8d, she’d have my support. I watch “The Amazing Race” regularly, & Keoghan’s a good host. I would pick him 2 win, but I wouldn’t bet my 401(k) on him.
So who do you like? Do you think Samantha Harris shoulda been picked & her co-host gotten recognised for “AFHV? The 61st Emmys take place September 20 on CBS.

How can they leave Julie Chen for “Big Brother” off that list. I’m appalled!
I would just assume Seacrest wins the award. Although I don’t like him, it seems like he wins every award ever given for television hosting and/or radio categories.
Question: Reality Culinary Contest Shows?
I’m Dying to get on one of these “hell’s Kitchen” or “top Chef” cooking shows, but does anyone have any info on applying for an upcoming Canadian versions since we can not compete in the States. I’m sure I could clean up!

You have to be working as a chef at a top joint, especially for Top Chef.
